About Us
Accelerating Language is a small company in the Lancaster County area in Pennsylvania founded by Dr. Carmen Shahadi Rowe. She has experience working with universities, school districts, and regional service providers. She has been an invited speaker at TESOL, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Center for Schools and Communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to equip educators with skills and strategies for developing robust academic language for all students. This includes providing them with the tools needed to accelerate language at the word, sentence, and discourse level, for not only ELs, but all students.
Our Why
Educators are seeking direction, guidance, and support in their efforts to teach the English Learners (ELs) in their classrooms. The task of moving ELs to proficiency in both English language development and academic standards achievement is challenging, but attainable when supported by appropriate and practical teaching theory and strategies.
